Frequently Asked Questions

What opacity should I use?

Around 15–25% is the sweet spot: clearly visible as a mark, but light enough to read the text underneath. Push it higher only if the watermark must dominate.

Can the watermark be removed by someone else?

A text watermark is drawn into the page content, so it can't be toggled off in a reader — but anyone with a PDF editor can still delete it. Treat it as a label, not as security.

Can I watermark with an image or logo?

This tool stamps text only. For a logo, place it in your source document before exporting to PDF.

Does it watermark every page?

Yes, the same mark is applied to all pages, centred on each one and scaled to the page it sits on.

Will the watermark show up when the PDF is printed?

Yes. It is drawn into the page content, so it prints exactly as it appears on screen — which is usually the point of adding one.

Does watermarking make the file much larger?

Barely. A text watermark adds a few bytes of drawing instructions per page, so the size change is normally negligible even on a long document.
