About ToolsCrate

ToolsCrate is a crate full of free online tools for everyday tasks — resizing photos to exact file sizes for application forms, compressing and merging PDFs, generating QR codes, counting words, and calculating taxes and loan EMIs. There are 123 of them at the moment, and the list grows as people ask for things.

Nothing you open here is uploaded

Every tool runs entirely in your browser. When you resize a photo, compress a PDF or decode a save file, the file is read by the page itself and never sent anywhere — there is no upload, no server-side processing, and nothing stored afterwards. The same goes for what you type into a calculator: your salary, your loan balance and your rent never leave the device you are sitting at.

This is not just a privacy promise, it is how the site is built. The whole thing is a set of static pages with no backend to send anything to, which is also why the tools stay fast on a slow connection and keep working once the page has loaded. It does mean very large files are limited by your device's memory rather than by a server, which is a trade we think is worth making.

What is in the crate

The collection is deliberately broad, because the tasks it covers do not belong to one audience. There are image tools for the exact-KB photo and signature uploads that Indian application portals demand; PDF tools for merging, splitting, compressing and rearranging documents; text and developer utilities for the small conversions and inspections that come up mid-task; a large set of Indian finance and tax calculators covering income tax, EMIs, SIPs, PPF and the small-savings schemes; health calculators; and a group of game save tools for reading the file formats that games store progress in.

How the calculators are built

Indian tax slabs, small-savings interest rates and statutory ceilings change regularly, so the calculators are written against the published rules for the current year and updated when those rules move. Where a calculation has a legal cap — the ₹20 lakh gratuity ceiling, the ₹1.5 lakh PPF limit, the three-way HRA test — the cap is applied and shown rather than hidden, so you can check the working rather than trust a single number.

They are estimation tools all the same. They do not know your full financial position, and they are not financial, tax or legal advice. For a decision that matters, use them to understand the shape of the problem and then talk to a professional.

Why it is free

ToolsCrate is supported by advertising. There is no paid tier, no sign-up, no watermark on anything you produce, and no limit on how many times you can use a tool. What data the ads involve is set out in our privacy policy.

Suggestions and corrections

If a tool is wrong, missing, or nearly right but not quite, please say so through the contact page. Corrections to a calculator are the most useful mail we get, and most of what is in the crate today was built because somebody described a task they could not finish.
